About
Hi there!
Let me tell you a little about myself...
I love the beach. When I moved my family from Central Western NSW up to Noosa 1992, it was the best decision I ever made. I love to sit by the ocean, and really relax.
I also love coffee, so this in hand while I'm at the beach makes for a heavenly combination. I feel like I've found some pretty amazing places to indulge in that delight.
I have 5 wonderful children. I used to say "when you all grow up I want you to go and live in all the beautiful parts of the world so I can come and visit you all". Now they do, and I miss them terribly!
One of my best learning tools was my children. They all have/had allergies/sensitivities of some sort and back in the 80's people used to look at me as if I was mad, when I told them my children were allergic or sensitive to various foods. I'm so glad it so much easier to buy these gluten or dairy free items now. I had to learn by trial and error, a lot of research and patience, before I officially studied and received an Advanced Diploma in Health Science (Homoeopathy).
One of my delicious kids has Asperger's Syndrome, and a couple of my good buddies are also Aspies (their word for Asperger's Syndrome). This has given me a wonderful and unique window into their amazing sensitivity - body and mind, and quite a few tools to help them assimilate more easily into society, without losing their quirkiness.
FUN FACTS
I had a health scare some time ago (yes, we all have them, no matter how healthy you are!) and I decided to take up mountain biking at 57. I just love it! I have never felt better, it gives me so much energy and I get to explore places I have never seen.
I have always been a bit of a green thumb and I love to grow my own veggies and herbs. However, my little grand daughter loves to pick my cherry tomatoes when they are green, so my crop this year may be a little light on.
I am vegan and this is the last time I will tell you about it, lol. I have done it for my own reasons and I feel great for it. I have been a vegetarian since 2001 and evolved into a vegan lifestyle a few years later. I totally miss butter and cheese, but that's about it.
I used to be a very busy person, filling all my time with some task, so much so that my eldest daughter used to joke about having to get shares in Red Bull one day just to keep up with me. This has changed, as I have contemplated life, and how delicious it is.
I have been learning Mandarin, which has opened up new doors in communication with friends and learning about a new culture. I love building new neuropathways.
I love reading books, Jaffas, dragonflies, green tea in transparent cups, lighthouses, flamingos, chocolate covered coffee beans, riding my bike, seahorses and of course actual dragons. Everyone needs a little fantasy in their life.
WHY HEALTH
I am deeply passionate about health. Not in the crazy preachy way, but I get great satisfaction in helping people improve their lives and feel better about themselves.
For example, helping parents who get to have a full nights sleep, because their baby is sleeping restfully. And assisting athletes who can train hard, repair quickly and have heaps of energy to go again the next day. Mental fatigue is huge, so being able to help Business owners who are finally able to be full of energy to take on the next challenge business throws at you (and the next).
To be able to fine tune a plan for School kids who can finally pay attention in class, and actually remember stuff, is just awesome.
I also love meeting new people so if you would like to come and meet me and have a consultation please call for a booking on 07 5455 3224 or email ruby@rubytickner.com.au.
I look forward to seeing you soon!
